Kaeja d’Dance presents

Porch View Dances

An Urban Landscape Performance Initiative

DEADLINE: August 22, 2011  |  FESTIVAL DATES: SUMMER 2012

Kaeja d’Dance welcomes Canadian established, mid-career and emerging choreographers, inclusive of all cultural and stylistic backgrounds, with a minimum of 2-5 years of professional experience, to apply. These commissions are for 10-minute works as part of Porch View Dances, an inaugural outdoor festival for Summer 2012 in Toronto’s Seaton Village (West Annex) and Jane/Finch areas. Created with and performed by local non-dancers of all ages from all walks of life, on the front porches and courtyards of their own residences, it involves full participation of “real people in real time dancing in real spaces”.

Since 1991, Kaeja d’Dance has created critically acclaimed choreography and opportunities for stage and site-specific platforms bridging professionals and the general public in Canada and across Europe.
