Open Community Warm Up Classes with tiger princess dance projects

Please join us for open community classes at Dovehouse Ballroom.

Limon-based class with Meredith Thompson
and
Pilates Mat class with Amy Hampton

Location: Dovehouse Dance Ballroom – 805 Dovercourt Rd., 2nd Floor

Date:
May 9, 16, 24 – Limon-based class
May 11, 18, 25 – Pilates Mat Work
*please bring your own yoga mat if possible

Time: 9 a.m.-10 a.m. (studio open at 8:45 for warm-up)

Cost: $5 per class

Limon-based classes will have an emphasis on the use of weight, fall and rebound, fall and recovery, succession, isolation, opposition, breath, and suspension.
Meredith Thompson, a graduate of York University, is an established dance and yoga teacher on faculty at the Canadian Children’s Dance Theatre and George Brown College. Meredith was a company member of the Danny Grossman Dance Company for seven years and currently dances with David Earle, tiger princess dance projects, and the Dusk Dances Festival.

*Pilates Mat classes for dancers. All levels welcome. The classes will focus on increasing the strength, flexibility and control of the body to allow for efficiency and precision in movement.
Amy Hampton has been practicing Pilates for over 15 years and is a certified Pilates Mat and Equipment instructor. A graduate of L’Ecole Superieure de Danse du Quebec and Co-Artistic Director of AKA Dance, Amy is active in the Toronto dance community as a dancer, choreographer and teacher. She currently dances in projects with CORPUS, tiger princess dance projects and Brandy Leary, among others.
