Old & Young and Reckless Together!-May 19-20

In Events on April 20, 2011 by danceumbrella

Moonhorse is buzzing with the energy of spring!

Coming up in May is our 2nd edition of OLD & YOUNG AND RECKLESS TOGETHER!I’m so thrilled to feature an excerpt of David Earle’s masterwork, Maelstrom, re-mounted by Danielle Baskerville and Kenny Pearl and danced by 12 talented emerging artists. David challenged me as a young dancer at Toronto Dance Theatre with major roles. His faith in me was instrumental to my growth as an interpreter.

Marie-Josée Chartier will perform her dynamic duet from the acclaimed Red Brick show with Valerie Calam – these gals really rock!

Great news- O & R received its first grant to commission a new solo by brilliant choreographer Allison Cummings for beloved dance icon, Pia Bouman. Says Allison ‘The work has been great fun; it is very layered; very subtle; and we laugh a lot!’

And, direct from Kaeja d’Dance’s 20th anniversary celebration, here’s another chance to see Karen Kaeja’s evocative solo performed by young dance sensation Stéphanie Tremblay Abubo.

Join us for our second inter-generational celebration, O & R III – it’s all about old and young together!
