New University Course for Professional Dancers Starts April 4th!

Ryerson University, in partnership with the Dancer Transition Resource Centre and the National Ballet of Canada, will be offering a Biology of a Living City credit course this spring for professional dancers.

This course will examine current selected topics in biology including cloning, today’s epidemics, genetically modified foods and environmental issues. Students will be introduced to many fundamental principles of modern biology as well as the history and ethics pertaining to the topics.
This is an undergraduate liberal arts course and as such has no secondary school biology prerequisites.

Course: CSCI 181 – Biology of a Living City
Dates: April 4th, 2011 – June 27th, 2011
*no class on Victoria Day – Monday, May 23
Time: 6:45pm – 10:15pm
Place: The Walter Carsen Centre – The National Ballet of Canada
Cost: The course fee for Canadian citizens and landed immigrants is $543. The required textbook is available from the Ryerson University Bookstore and costs $142.
