The theme for the 1st Night of Essence showcase is ‘She Rocks’; however you are free to use guys in your performance. All we ask is that you be the creative genius behind the performance. You are the one creating the act. You call the shots.

Everyone attending the audition must fill out the Performers audition form. Email info@nightofessence.com to confirm you’re attending the audition and the form will be emailed to you. Please put ‘audition’ in the subject line of the email.

What we are looking for –
We are looking for choreographers, dancers, singers, comedians, and specialty acts that are out of the box. Artistic, creative, innovative, sexy, risky, yet true to the art of what they do. We want to be artistically entertained. Pay attention to those words, artistically entertained.
Take a risk, if there is ever a time to be daring, now is the time

Information for specific acts –

Solo dancers
Please come with something no longer than 2 minutes long. This does not have to be the performance you will be doing for the show. However make it one of your best.

Dance groups/Choreographers
If you’re choreographing, please send video footage of your previous work and come with dancers ready to perform something you have already created or in the process of creating. This does not have to be the performance for the show. Please make sure your audition is no longer than 2 minutes. For the audition you could come with 3 dancers to show us what you are working with.
If you don’t have dancers as yet, that is fine, come and we will conduct a brief interview with you.
If you don’t have any videos of your work, then it’s important to come with dancers and or fill out the audition form with as much detail on what you’re bringing to the table.

Singers
Please come prepared to showcase your voice and performance. If you have back up dancers bring them with you, but make sure they are on point. We want to get a sneak peak of what you’re bringing to the table.

Comedians
Yes, make us laugh; bring your props and whatever you need to put on a show. You have 4 minutes.
Please set up outside, so you’re ready to go once you’re in the audition room.

Specialty acts
If there is something that you do that’s not on this list, then we want to see you, we understand that art cannot be placed in a box, so if you want to express yourself in this showcase, send us footage of what you do, and come out to the audition.

For those not able to attend
If you’re not available to attend the audition, please fill out the performers audition form and send footage of yourself doing what you do best. However we want to see you, so try your best to come out.

We thank everyone for submitting; however we will only contact those who bring something unique and different to the stage.
