Rock ‘n Roll/East Coast Swing (Beg and Int), with TOM KING

In Classes on February 18, 2011 by danceumbrella

The King is back! Starting Monday Feb. 21 we present a new 7-week dance class series: Rock ‘n Roll/East Coast Swing with TOM KING. Also known as Jive and Jitterbug, this is a really FUN style of dancing, done mainly to the Rock ‘n Roll music of the 1950’s. Tom is a veteran dancer, instructor and performer, having taught for TSDS for nearly 15 years.

Some of us who’ve been around for a long time remember him as being 1/2 of the Fabulous and Legendary Rock n’ Roll Dance Team of “King and Kurtz” (or was that someone else?). Both he and Al grew up in California, learned dancing from “American Bandstand”, and are among the top Rock ‘n Roll teachers in Toronto.

He’s the real thing!

Details of the classes are as follows:

LOCATION: Lithuanian House, 1573 Bloor St. West, Hall D (upstairs).

Beginner class 7:30 – 8:30 pm
Dance practice music 8:30 – 8:45 pm
Intermediate class 8:45 – 9:45 pm

Full 7-week series: Members $65., non-members $95.
Drop-in classes (each): Members $13., non-members $16.
Intermediates can sign up for both classes and get the second class for half price!

(You can obtain, or renew, your TSDS MEMBERSHIP at the door. Price is $45 for one year, and you receive a coupon worth $12 for admission to any regular Friday dance during the year. PLUS you get free borrowing privileges from the TSDS Video Library, available to MEMBERS ONLY.)
