Audition for male dancer: Ismailova Theatre of Dance

Ismailova Theatre of Dance is looking for male dancers or actors who can dance for upcoming season (February – June 2011).

Any dance background is welcome, but must be willing to learn different dance styles including contemporary, contact improv, jazz, ballroom, traditional folk.

Ismailova Theatre of Dance was founded in April 2009. It brings theatre and dance together to express sincere feelings, tell real stories and show touching characters through original choreography. The work of dance theatre is narrative and focused on filling dance with meaning.

Ismailova Theatre of Dance regularly performs of various stages of Toronto and Ontario including its full length physical theatre production My Last Teacher that was performed in Toronto on November 26th, 2010.

All male dancers and actors are encouraged to audition, but strong partner skills will be an asset.

For the audition, be ready for a dance routine in any of the company’s styles and for dance and acting improvisations.

Must be available to rehearse 2 times a week. One of the rehearsals will definitely be on Sunday evenings.

The position is volunteer with performance opportunities, but some paid gigs are possible.
