Don’t miss the Toronto premiere of Artistic Director Malgorzata Nowacka’s newest creation ICARUS created for Ballet Jörgen Canada.

Featuring two premieres, this performance is a vibrant collection of gripping new choreography. Works by Malgorzata NowackaRobert DesrosiersBengt Jörgen and Ruth-Ellen Kroll Jackson make for a night of athleticism and lyric grace. These are some of Canada’s most popular contemporary choreographers, and their works show of the versatility and style of the Ballet Jörgen company.

Nowacka’s ICARUS is a contemporary ballet inspired by the emotional states that Icarus experienced during his flight and fall. ICARUS taps into the seduction by the unknown and the thrill and danger of physically meeting forces that one cannot control or influence. The cast of 11 ballet dancers push their physical boundaries with explosive partnering and intricate pointe-work.
