Aimee Dawn Robinson- Research Lab at Dancemakers

In Events on December 7, 2010 by danceumbrella

Dancemakers and Aimee Dawn Robinson invite you to the Centre for Creation Saturday December 18 at 4pm for our researchLAB showing and some conversation.

Aimee says,
“Welcoming the Flowers (the voice of soil is vegetable) is a developing, process-based dance work currently unfolding with the combined efforts of Dancemakers , guest artist Allison Peacock and 2010 ResearchLAB artist, Aimee Dawn Robinson. Inspired by the desire to seek out new sensory experiences, to actively multiply the dancing body through memory, experiment, observation and experience (and loosely based on John Giorno’s 2004 poem Welcoming the Flowers), this work (and the presentation of it) marks the close of our three-week researchLAB. Through spending time together, we have devised a choreographic score that we would like to share with you. Discussion to follow the performance. Please join us!”

We couldn’t agree more. It’d be great to see you.

Also for those dance class taking kind of people – In response to 509 Dance Collective classes ending December 17, Dancemakers is offering to honour 509 class cards for the first two weeks of company classes in February (Feb 7-18, 2011.) We hope to see you there also.

about the LAB: Dancemakers’ researchLAB offers a rare opportunity for a Canadian choreographer to explore the creative process for a three-week period, without the inherent pressures (time, resources, etc.) of producing a fully completed work.
