ArtsVote ANNOUNCEMENT: Get out to the Vote!

In Announcements on October 20, 2010 by danceumbrella

ArtsVote Toronto has announced grades for Councillor and Mayoral candidates, printed the anticipated ArtsVote Report Card, and helped organize the Mayoral Arts Debate. With six days to go until the municipal election, the message is simple. VOTE.

This week on the website we’re running a series on the Ward races that feature Councillor candidates who received a high rating on the ArtsVote Report Card. You can also help ensure arts-friendly candidates across the city by volunteering for a campaign in your neighbourhood.

Voting Day is Monday, October 25, 2010, polls are open 10 am – 8 pm

Toronto Elections website:

What do you need to take to the polls on Election Day?
Your voter information card (delivered in the mail earlier this month) and acceptable pieces of ID; one piece of ID showing your name, Toronto address (where you currently live or own property) and signature; or two pieces of ID – the first piece showing your name and signature and the second piece of ID showing your name and Toronto address.

Join the ArtsVote Toronto team for an Election Day gathering on Monday October 25 starting at 7 pm, at the Cadillac Lounge, 1296 Queen Street West. Global News will be broadcasting their 11 pm news election coverage from the Cadillac so we’d like to make sure there’s a crowd!

ArtsVote Toronto 2010 is a coalition of volunteers, working to elect candidates who support the arts in the October 25, 2010 municipal election. ArtsVote has two goals: to communicate the value of the arts to candidates for Councillor and Mayor, and to mobilize artists and arts workers to vote for candidates who are committed to building a vibrant and cultured community.
