Kaeja d’Dance is seeking a Branding & Website Developer Intern

Description:
Celebrating 20 years of innovation in contemporary dance performance, education and film, Kaeja d’Dance is seeking a visionary Branding & Website Developer Intern to design and implement a new visual marketing concept and website. This four-month, part-time paid internship will begin on November 1, 2010, ending in February or March 2011.

Responsibilities:
Utilizing Web 2.0 technology to increase interactivity while also streamlining the administrative requirements needed to maintain the site, responsibilities of the position include the design, implementation, review and maintenance of all technical and visual elements required by the new website.  Key elements include a user-friendly, attractive interface, cross-browser support for multimedia presentations (film and video), regular news releases, company blog, and a dynamic layout/theme that unifies the company’s three tributaries of activity (performance, education and film).  Related designs for additional collateral material – such as templates for e-newsletters, etc – will also be required.

Qualifications:

– Be legally entitled to work in Canada

– Be between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusively) at time of selection

– An emerging professional recently entering the workforce from college or university

– Currently unemployed or under-employed, not currently receiving Employment Insurance benefits and not a past participant in any Youth Employment Strategy Work Experience Programs targeted at post-secondary graduates

– Exceptional design portfolio including online applications

– Fluent in a Mac OS X / Windows 7 Professional environment

– Fluent in Adobe Creative Suite CS2 or CS5 Master Collection

– Fluent in PHP, XML, MySQL, XHTML, CSS2, open source content management systems (Drupal, Joomla!, WordPress) or others, as appropriate

– Have an appreciation for contemporary dance or the performing arts

– Excellent interpersonal communication skills
