Dance Matters, Series 1 – ‘A Woman’s Work’

In Events on September 17, 2010 by danceumbrella

DANCE MATTERS is a curated dance series which features finished works in a casual theatre environment; a platform for the exchange of thoughts, ideas, and feedback between audience and artists. A post-show discussion will delve into each artist’s creative mind, ingenuity, and the art of performance.

SERIES 1 – ‘A WOMAN’S WORK’
The works featured in this series address how women are defined in various cultures in our current society, how woman have been defined historically, how women come to define themselves, as well as looking at turning the gender roles upside down. Each choreographer investigates one or several of these themes in their own way, from a personal or global perspective.
