The Art of Falling – Finding flight in the state of off-balance and landing with grace and resilience.

By learning how to fall, we are disarming a primal fear and generating more movement potential and possibility. For movement artists, safe falling management is vital to ensure a healthy and injury-free career. It empowers us to take more risks when creating new movements, ancing with partners or fulfilling a choreographer’s vision.

In these classes we will explore sequential movement pathways through the study and application of appropriate landing and launching pads and the construction and deconstruction of ramps into and out of the floor.

About The Axis Syllabus: The Axis Syllabus is a conscious movement method with a strong scientific spirit, dedicated to resist stagnation and to promote a critical and holistic quest for the improvement of the human condition. The approach claims to be first functional, based on constantly updated anatomical, bio mechanical and physio dynamic principles. The training aims for physical as well as emotional safety opening the playground for responsible bodily communication, personal creativity, challenges, surprises and moving adventures.

The AS encourages the student to respect individual limitations as well as taking the chance to confront personal challenge. Everybody has the freedom to follow their own learning curve with reducing, adapting or adding to the given material.
